Blurb
Sabrina Chandler must go back home to face her past and confront her once best friend and ex-boyfriend who betrayed her in the worst way possible.
Returning to her past also means coming face to face with the boy who was standing in the shadows one fateful night. The same boy she made a promise to and who unknowingly walked away with her heart.
Can she move forward with her life when her heart is still 10 years in the past?

My Take

It's him. If you had told me it was him and I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I would have called you a liar.

When we first meet Sabrina, she's just been punched in the gut upon witnessing the ultimate betrayal from her  boyfriend and best friend. Gutted, she tries to get away when she realizes that someone else was witness to the heartbreaking scene unfolding before her. Tyler Anderson, resident bad boy and ultimate hottie, guides Sabrina away from the scene, taking her home. There's a sweet exchange, but in the end, underlying emotions are left undeclared.

Ten Years Later

After graduation, Sabrina left town and never looked back. She couldn't imagine going back to the scene that left her heart shattered, broken. Until one day she receives the invitation for her high school reunion. She really has no desire to go back and see Chris or Lisa, but there is a certain someone she wouldn't mind seeing. Tyler. She hasn't been able to get him off of her mind for the past ten years. With a little bit of pushing from her best friend Julia, she decides to to suck it up and head on home.

At the reunion, we're treated to some explosive scenes, some bitchy women, and one hot ass Tyler Anderson. It's apparent that time has only exemplified their feelings, and their chemistry is off the charts.

Can Sabrina and Tyler get past the time, distance, and trust issues have a hold over them?
*****
I really enjoyed this book! I am so impressed with Barbie Bohrman's debut novel. I was hooked from the opening pages. Sabrina and Tyler were such a great couple, and I fell in love with them as they fell for each other. They had such great chemistry and an easy, playful banter that had me rooting for them from the very beginning.

I loved Sabrina as a main character. I totally connected with her as I felt her heartbreak in this book. Her vulnerability shone through this book, but she still was able to muster up the courage to follow her heart. In certain situations, she could have been written as a frustrating character, but instead I felt her portrayal extremely realistic and true.

Tyler is the ULTIMATE swoon worthy book boyfriend. I can't even begin to explain how hot this guy is. You just have to read it to find out.

Don't be nervous...I won't bite, I promise.

Julia was an amazing addition, playing the best friend role to perfection. She's fierce, loyal, and she tells Sabrina like it is. She doesn't say what she thinks you want to hear, she says what you need to hear. I love that about her, and I'm really hoping that we get a book for her.

One element that made this book a stand out to me was the use of 90's/early 00's pop references. They had me cracking up every time!

Tell me about last night so I can live vicariously through you for a minute before I go back to watching reruns of Buffy.

There is one issue in this book that I normally hate, and I try to avoid books that have it. However, I found myself extremely forgiving in this case. But it better not happen again! And the repair wasn't an easy one, which made me respect this story so much more. People fuck up sometimes...and sometimes we just have to learn to forgive.

I totally recommend this book to any and everyone. I'm looking forward to more of Barbie's work, which will hopefully include a book for Julie and Alex.
