Danielle promised herself she would never return, but now—she has no choice. The family Inn her Grandparents put their lives into is going under and Danielle is the last hope they have to save it.
When she temporarily returns to her home town, she’s even less prepared than expected to run into her first love, Oliver Garrison. After their encounter leaves her on edge she decides what is really needed is a distraction. What she doesn’t expect is the way she feels when she meets Corey Preston with the bad boy edge, a gentle heart and smoking body.
Oliver is everything she thought she ever wanted while Corey is everything she never thought she needed. Dani's heart was broken on the day of her high school graduation, so she packed her bags, left town, and never looked back. With an absentee father, a drug addicted mother, there's been no reason for her to return to Serenity Cove. It's been seven years since she's been in New York, and she'd like to stay there. Unfortunately, her grandmother's retiring, and with her mother in jail, it's up to Dani to head back to town to run the family inn. She promises herself, and her best friend, Gabby, that the move is only temporary and she'll be back in New York before they know it.
After a run-in with Ollie, the jerk who broke her heart, Dani decides to go out for the night, looking for someone to help her forget her issues, if only for one night.
Enter Corey Anderson (prepare to swoon), the sexy tattooed bar owner who's the perfect guy to help Dani unwind. Soon, one night turns to two, and eventually, Dani and Corey fall into an easy, friends with benefits, type of relationship. Once it's obvious that Corey wants to much more, will Dani be able to move past her fear of heartache, or will she lose the one guy who's actually worth the risk?
This book, while frustrating at times, was a very good read! I loved the relationship between Corey and Dani. They had a fun, playful, sexy banter going on from their very first interaction. Their chemistry was undeniable, and it was so obvious that they'd both end up falling for each other.
Dani....I want to shake her! She's damaged from past heartbreaks and broken relationships, stemming all the way back from her childhood. She's constantly pushing Corey away and then pulling him back in. I felt bad for the guy!
Corey is book boyfriend perfection. Seriously, I fell for him so hard, which just even more added to my frustrations with Dani. He's this hot, tattooed, stud, who has a beautiful heart, a caring soul, and knows how to make a girl laugh. There is not a single thing wrong with this guy, and I felt his heart aches so much more than I have for other male characters.
I don't like Ollie, and it bothered the crap out of me that he was even a blip on Dani's radar when she had this tattooed, sex god waiting for her realize her feelings for him. Dani, you fool!
Even though Dani frustrated (how many times have I used that word) the crap out of me, I still enjoyed this story and want more of Corey. Initially, I had no idea this was a cliffhanger, so I was pretty shocked at the ending. I'll be stalking Ms. Noelle until book 2 comes out.
The title of this book is extremely fitting. Dani is quite the fool, and you'd be a fool for not reading!
