Synopsis
After Kylie’s dad dies in a freak accident, he leaves her with nothing other than her crazy stepmother, Darla, and the ability to play guitar. When Darla kicks Kylie out and she loses her job all in the same day, she hops a bus to Nashville determined to make her late father’s dreams come true. Waitressing and saving her pennies to record a demo, her big break comes when she’s asked to join a tour going down the tubes with once platinum album-selling country music superstar Trace Corbin. But touring with Trace is hardly a dream come true since he’s pretty much drinking his career down the drain. If Kylie can’t pull Trace out of his rut, he’ll pull her and her dreams down with him.

Review
Girl with Guitar should come with a warning label: highly addictive. Ladies, you can keep your rock stars! This girl's stickin' with her country boy!!

Have you ever read a story that was so beautiful and so captivating that you couldn't put it down? Have you ever met characters whom fascinate you in such a way that you never want to say goodbye? That are so realistic that you find yourself wishing they really existed so you could know them? Have you ever finished a book with a feeling that is so bittersweet because you loved it, but you're bummed that it's over? A book that upon finishing, you want to immediately start back over at page one? I have. And for me, that book is Girl with Guitar.

Kylie Ryans, an aspiring country musician, is 18, alone, and homeless. With no family, save a witchy stepmother, Kylie decides to head to Nashville where she'll pursue her dream in honor of her late father. After a few dead ends, Kylie finds herself in the right place at the right time. She gets a job at a bar that is visited often by music executives and other big country acts. At an Open Mic Night, she astounds the crowd, as well as another singer's manager.

Trace Corbin is a hot country star whose currently drinking his way out of a job. He's on a last ditch effort tour to try and save his career. He can't seem to keep opening acts, so when his manager sees Kylie, he offers her the chance of a lifetime- to finish the tour opening for bestselling artist, Trace Corbin.

Kylie and Trace are moving in opposite directions, yet something continues to draw them together. The more time spent together, the more Kylie gets to know the Trace that he's been hiding from the world, and from himself. As she gets to know the real Trace Corbin, she finds herself falling hard and falling fast, but unless he changes his path, she knows he'll bring her down with him. Kylie cares for him, but is it enough to risk her career and missing out on her dreams?

Kylie Ryans is my favorite kind of female character. She stands strong as she makes the transition from girl to woman. No matter what, she sticks to her guns. Kylie's not afraid to speak her mind, and that's such a refreshing trait in a female character. She gives as good as she gets, and she won't apologize if she offends you, because that's who she is, you better get used to it. Don't get me wrong, she's as sweet as she is sassy, and a girl I'd be best friends with in real life.

You probably have about fifteen more minutes until some guy with deeper dimples and tighter jeans, if that's possible, comes along and steals your thunder.

Trace Corbin is the epitome of the hot, bad ass, jerk. What Trace doesn't want you to know is that deep down there's a good guy inside, but he desperately tries to keep that part of himself hidden. It's easier to not get attached, to have meaningless flings,  because that way no one gets hurt. Unfortunately for him, Kylie's about to chip away at the wall he's built, and he may be unable to resist.

You should run back to your room as fast as those pretty little legs can carry you. And lock the goddamned door.

Kylie & Trace have a beautiful chemistry that flows so easily in their banter as well as in their writing sessions. And this is only the beginning, y'all. This is just the tip of the Trylie iceberg. We're getting at least two more books in the series, and I, for one, couldn't be happier. I seriously love this book, y'all, and I know you will, too!!

Caisey Quinn is breaking into the NA arena with a fantastic debut novel, and I can't wait to read more of her work.  Girl with Guitar is an enchanting story about two lonely people trying to find themselves as they also try to carve their paths in life. I cried, I laughed, I wanted to chuck my Kindle at Trace's head, and most importantly, I fell in love with two characters who will stay will me for a long time.
